What we do

The Mission of the Ramou Sarr Organisation

Empowering Youth.

The establishment of the Ramou Sarr Organisation was underpinned by the burning desire of its founders to support and help young people to remain in school and continue with their education in a safe and healthy environment, and to help them to develop a good sense of pride and citizenship as they are propelled into adult life.

We believe that our efforts to support these children cannot be satisfactorily achieved without the involvement of their parents or guardians, more especially those of struggling mothers, and so, central to the organization’s efforts would be the supporting of women’s community group projects.

Educational Initiatives

The Organisation will work with young people between primary and secondary school ages and organize programs designed to cultivate positive attitudes amongst them, also supporting them in education, vocational skills development, and basic socio-economic concepts. Some of these will be organized through appropriate workshops and seminars in schools and within the local communities. We further believe that these programs will help to instill in them a sense of confidence, citizenship and personal integrity.

Addressing the Education Gap

According to a 2017 published UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) report, 88% of children and adolescents in Sub-Saharan Africa are not achieving minimum proficiency levels (MPLs) in reading and mathematics compared to their counterparts in Norther America & Europe of 14%, and this is of significant concern to us, hence out drive to engage with our young people.
